Oh boy, if you are still salivating for more My Bloody Valentine then you will be happy that the band gave birth to its beautiful, though not quite as furious, Astrobrite. The distortion, guitar phrasing, odd chord progressions, buried/muted vocals, and transitions are so similar to the aforementioned band that I had an instant flashback. I was back in college, sitting in my dorm room with mouth agape, skipping Anthropology 300 class to listen to the rapture of shoegazing’s finest--MBV. With titles like "Crushed," "Buterflykiss," and "Overdriver" you know what sonic bliss is in store. The entirety of the album is a gem, with not one throwaway. Highlights definitely include the effects-laden "Lemondrop," "Blown," "Comet" and "Peachfuzz," that had the hair on my neck standing with its dreamy beauty, and hitting my repeat button a few times to relive the experience. I never did become an anthropologist, but with music like this, I have one hell of a music collection! Highly recommended.
