CLAIRECORDS NEWSLETTER SEPTEMBER 2005 Welcome to the 14th edition of the Clairecords newsletter. Rock it! ** IF IT'S CLAIRECORDS ARTIST NEWS YOU WANT, THEN IT'S CLAIRECORDS ARTIST NEWS YOU'LL GET (WHAT A BARGAIN!)** AIRIEL Airiel have returned from their Godzilla rampage of the Eastern seaboard with Hartfield intact and unscathed-- well, almost. Jeremy spills thusly: Let's start with the bad things..... - developed unhealthy addiction to Sobe's "No Fear" energy drink. - throat is majorly swollen (probably from the unhealthy addiction to Sobe's "No Fear" energy drink.) - I've lost feeling in about 40% of the big toe on my right foot. Seriously. It's like I had a micro stroke or something. (may or may not be caused from the unhealthy addiction to Sobe's "No Fear" energy drink.) Good/great/awesome things.... - none of our gear got stolen - nobody got sick - both vehicles made it without any problems (although mine smells super bad because Yukari spilled most of the water out of the cooler into one of the back seats. It happens.) - swam in the Chesapeake bay. - Mau Mau Tsunami was the most therapeutic punk rock band I've ever experienced. And steer clear of that Sobe energy drink, it sounds nasty! http://www.airiel.com EAU CLAIRE If you've already worn out your copy of the Alan Sparhawk-produced Eau Claire EP (and we know most of you have), you1ll be ecstatic to know that ground is slowly but surely being broken for Eau Claire's debut full-length. Rachel is also working on her first solo record, will be traversing the Atlantic in October to sing on the next Monster Movie LP, and has launched her very own Web site at http://www.rachelgoldstar.com . And thanks to WMPG-FM (Portland ME), WHFR-FM (Dearborn/Detroit MI) for giving the EP such generous airplay! http://www.eauclairemusic.com HARTFIELD We're simply ecstatic to report that Hartfield received a warm fuzzy welcome at each and every stop of their Godzilla rampage along the East Coast with Airiel. In addition to the musical aspect of their first trip to the Yoo Ess, Yukari and Takateru were introduced to many wholesome American activities, including but not limited to bowling and swearing. (We hear Takaterušs rendition of "asshat" was particularly fetching.) And according to the Pittsburgh CityPaper, Yukari-san is "every proper shoegazer's current crush." Hubba hubba! http://www.hartfieldweb.com PARK AVENUE MUSIC Wes 'n' Juju have a brand-new Web site thanks to designer Fuyuko Akiyoshi, click forth for a peek! (A peek into the sundry activities of your favorite Clairecords stars!) Cris Miller, SILVER SCREEN: "I have been enjoying, for the last few weeks now, attending an Aztec native dance class. It's a class that focuses on not only the physical movements, but what the dances mean. Afterwards there is a circle where everyone comes together and passes around an urn with burning sage and copal. The person holding the fire can speak, and everyone else listens. You can give various thanks, tell people what's going on in your life, or even give a prayer. Every Thursday we do it, and it puts me in contact with my spirituality, something that is actually quite new to me. This Thursday we will be designing and decorating gourds." _______________________________________ Clairecords * Purveyors of Quality Noise http://www.clairecords.com http://www.myspace.com/clairecords
