CLAIRECORDS NEWSLETTER MAY ‘06 Welcome to the 20th edition of the Clairecords newsletter, brought to you from the highly-allergenic depths of California’s Central Valley. ACHOO!. Hey, guess what? We’re happy to announce that Clairecords has entered into a new deal with the highly-esteemed NAIL Distribution, which means that, beginning in August, you’ll be able to find our releases at your favorite one-stop and distributor and in record emporiums large (Borders, Tower) and small (Tonevendor). Overcome with glee? We are! So the next time you’re browsing through the racks at your favorite music retailer and see the Clairecords atom, thank your new best friends at NAIL. But wait, there’s more! AIR FORMATION Brighton’s best melody makers have reined in producer Pat Collier (Robyn Hitchcock, the Wonder Stuff, Primal Scream) to helm their next studio effort, which is currently in progress. We’ll have more information as soon as it becomes available, we promise. And look out below for UK tourdates! http://www.airformation.com CLAIRE'S ECHO Achtung, vinyl aficionados! Claire’s Echo, our new wax-only label, has finally launched and begun bringing the rock straight to your turntable. Subscribers have already received our initial releases, St. Avalanche’s St. Avalanche is Filled With Warm Liquid and the Somehow About Perfection 12-inch by Acetate Zero, and the latter is down to the remaining black vinyl. As St. Avalanche and their warm liquid encountered unexpected technical difficulties at the magic printing factory, it’s being delayed until the replacement jackets arrive. Our next two releases will feature Sway’s Winter Heart and an EP 12-inch from Montreal’s destroyalldreamers. What? You haven’t subscribed yet? Well, what are you waiting for? Get to it here: http://www.tonevendor.com . Forthcoming issuances will feature melody makers like Mahogany, Japanther, Park Avenue Music, The Tangles, Giardini Di Miro, and many, many more. www.clairecords.com/clairesecho/home.html EAU CLAIRE There’s much ado to report in the Eau Claire camp: In addition to writing new material for Eau Claire’s next outing, Jessica’s next solo album for Kranky, Feels Like Home, comes out July 10. His songwriting and production are polished and keenly focused, and hopefully this is a sign of great things to come in the near future.” - Rob Theakston, Allmusic.com ** CLAIRECORDS LIVE AND IN STEREO! ** AIRIEL 6/02/06 Woodfield, IL- Gameworks AIR FORMATION 7/20/06 Brighton, UK- Hanbury Ballroom 7/21/06 London UK- Club AC30 @ Water Rat’s Theatre EAU CLAIRE 6/01/06 Austin, TX- Beerland* 6/24/06 San Marcos TX- Triple Crown* 8/10/06 Los Angeles CA- Silverlake Lounge* 8/11/06 Los Angeles CA- TBA* 8/12/06 Long Beach CA- The Prospector* 8/17/06 San Francisco, CA- Make-Out Room* 8/18/06 Oakland/Berkeley CA- TBA* 8/19/06 Davis, CA- Delta of Venus* 11/17/06 Boston, MA- Regent Theater (Brainwaves Festival)** * Rachel Staggs solo performance ** Jessica Bailiff solo performance PIA FRAUS 6/09/06 Oslo NO- Mono 6/16/06 London UK- Luminaire w/ Ulrich Schnauss SCIFLYER 6/14/06 San Francisco CA- Studio Z w/ artDamaged,Venus Beltran 8/17/06 Long Beach, CA- The Prospector w/ artDamaged, LSD & the Search for God 8/18/06 Hollywood CA- Lava Lounge w/ artDamaged, LSD & the Search for God 8/19/06 Phoenix, AZ- Modified w/ artDamaged, LSD & the Search for God 8/20/06 Las Vegas NV- Divebar w/ artDamaged, LSD & the Search for God 8/23/06 San Francisco, CA- Make Out Room w/ LSD & the Search for God THE BROTHER KITE 5/25/06 Providence, RI- Century Lounge 6/22/06 Providence, RI- Century Lounge 8/06/06 Allston, MA- Great Scott 8/08/06 New York, NY- Sin-e 8/10/06 New York NY- Piano’s w/ The Rinse HEY!
