WHFR-FM (Dearborn/Detroit), KSCU-FM (Santa Clara Univ.) and KZUU-FM (Washington State Univ.- Pullman) are the latest stations to broadcast selections from the phenomenal Stay Inside/Feel Everything. If you’re going to be in London next month, you can see them open for Mojave 3 chanteuse Rachel Goswell. Ho ho ho! http://www.airformation.com EAU CLAIRE Clairecords is excitedly preparing to release the debut EP from this collaboration between Jessica Bailiff (Clear Horizon) and Rachel Staggs (Experimental Aircraft) very, very soon. Low’s Alan Sparhawk recorded and produced. More details as soon as they become available. http://www.rollerderbyrecords.com/eau_claire.htm THE FLATMATES Props to Jack Rabid (yes, the very same Jack Rabid behind The Big Takeover) for relaying news of the Flatmates’ Love and Death in last month’s ICE Magazine. We’ve also learned that certain tracks from our fine reissue have surfaced on KOOP-FM (Austin TX) and KDVS-FM (Davis CA), and that makes us very, very happy. http://www.theflatmates.com HIGHSPIRE It’s been forever in a day since we brought you anything resembling a decent Highspire update, and we’re as thrilled as you are about this one. As EJ Hagen reports, “I bought a house in Lancaster PA with, ahem, my music riches and have been spending most my time stripping wallpaper and painting with gin and tonics in hand rocking out to Air Supply's Greatest Hits.” One more thing, for all the home-improvement DIYers among you: “FYI,” EJ cautions, “you can't paint window frames to ‘All Out of Love’ without getting some on the window.” Gin and tonics or paint? This could be a problem… http://www.highspire.net MONSTER MOVIE Christian Savill speaks! “Monster Movie have delivered their master work - Transistor - to Graveface so expect a release date soon. Next, we will go into the studio and record a single for Club AC30 - this will be brilliant. We are currently writing songs for our third album, we are half way through and already it is better than anything by The Beatles. On this album we will be recording every part twice - once using our left hands and once using our right hands - this will create feelings of warmth in the listener.” We’ve experienced this firsthand, and it’s a wonderful thing. http://www.monster-movie.com SCIFLYER Sciflyer are set to begin recording their follow-up to Fair Weather Karma at the end of the month, and if all goes according to plans it should be completed by spring ’05. Beat merchant Skott Bennett (Blueland, Low Rise) will be filling in for Harvey the Rabbit behind the kit. http://www.sciflyer.net TEST TONES V. 3 The new hotness we’ve been going on about for the last month or two is here at long last!
